The protection of your personal data is a particular concern for us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of statutory provisions: the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the Telecommunications Act (TCA), as well as, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Telecommunications Act (TKG 2021). In this privacy policy, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing in the context of our website.
When visiting our website, your IP address, as well as the start and end of the session for the duration of that session, are recorded. This is technically necessary and therefore constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Unless otherwise regulated below, we do not further process this data.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email, the data you provide will be stored with us for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions.
Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device with the help of the browser. They do not cause any harm.
We use cookies to make our service user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
If you do not wish this, you can configure your browser to inform you when cookies are set and allow them only in individual cases.
Disabling cookies may result in limited functionality of our website.
Privacy settings
On your first visit, we ask you which services you allow. Until you have made a decision, we do not load any of these services. You can see which services we use in the privacy settings: for each service, the provider, the purpose, the legal basis, the countries where data is processed, and the individual cookies.
You can change your selection there at any time, revoke consent or object to processing. You will find the link at the bottom of every page. If you switch off a service, we will delete its cookies on our website.
For visitors in Switzerland, we use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement on the basis of our overriding interest (Art. 31 FADP). We want to know how our website is used and which ads lead to requests. Without your consent, neither service sets cookies. You can object to them entirely in the privacy settings (Art. 45c TCA). Cookies from these services, personalised advertising, and all other services are only available with your consent.
Outside Switzerland, we use all services that are not necessary for operating the website only with your consent. The legal basis is § 165(3) TKG 2021 and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We determine this by the time zone reported by your device.
Some providers process data outside Switzerland and the EU, mainly in the USA. The countries and the guarantees for this (Standard Contractual Clauses, Data Privacy Framework) are listed for each service in the privacy settings.
We store your selection in the local storage of your browser and in a cookie, and ask again after 365 days.
Google Tag Manager
We use the Google Tag Manager of Google Ireland Limited to manage the services mentioned here. It loads only after you have made a decision in the privacy settings and starts only the services that you have approved or not objected to. In doing so, your IP address and technical details of your browser are processed.
Web analytics
Our website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. Cookies are used for this purpose, which enable an analysis of the use of the website by its users. The information generated thereby is transmitted to the provider’s server and stored there.
You can prevent this by configuring your browser so that no cookies are stored.
We have concluded a corresponding data processing agreement with the provider.
Your IP address is recorded but immediately pseudonymised by deleting the last 8 bits. This only allows for a rough location to be determined.
The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on an adequacy decision by the European Commission.
For visitors in Switzerland, we base web analytics on our overriding interest (Art. 31 FADP); you can object to this in the privacy settings. Google Analytics sets cookies only with your consent. Outside of Switzerland, web analytics is carried out only with your consent (§ 165(3) TKG 2021, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Our objective within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offer and our web presence. As we value the privacy of our users, user data is pseudonymised.
User data is retained for a period of 26 months.
Google Ads
With Google Ads from Google Ireland Limited, we measure which of our ads lead to requests. Data is transferred to Google in the process. With your consent, cookies are used for this purpose. When you then submit a request, we transmit your email address to Google in encrypted form (as a hash value) so that the request can be matched to the ad.
For visitors in Switzerland, measurement takes place without cookies on the basis of our overriding interest (Art. 31 FADP); you can object to this in the privacy settings. Personalised advertising (remarketing), i.e. ads for persons who have already visited our website, is only used with your consent. Outside Switzerland, we use Google Ads only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Meta-Pixel
Our website uses Meta pixels for marketing purposes and to measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns. Data is transferred to Meta and stored there. This data processing only takes place with your consent based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
Hotjar
We use Hotjar to better understand user behaviour on our website. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data about the behaviour of our visitors and their devices. This data processing only takes place with your consent based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
Taboola
Our website uses functions from Taboola for content recommendations. Data is transferred to Taboola and stored there for analyses. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
TikTok tracking
Our website uses TikTok tracking to measure and improve our TikTok ad campaigns. The data is transmitted to TikTok and processed there. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
LinkedIn tag
We use the LinkedIn tag for performance measurement of our LinkedIn advertising measures. The data is sent to LinkedIn and stored there. This data processing only takes place with your consent based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
OpenAI
We use an OpenAI pixel to measure our advertising on OpenAI. Data is transferred to OpenAI in the USA. This data processing only takes place with your consent based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
Trustindex
On the page where you request quotes, we display the “Certified Secure” certificate from Trustindex. To do this, your browser loads a script from Trustindex Ltd., based in Hungary, when accessing this page. Your IP address, technical details of your browser, and the address of the accessed page are transmitted to Trustindex. The certificate is loaded regardless of your selection in the privacy settings. This data processing takes place on the basis of our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, to demonstrate the verified security of our website.
Specialist partners (vary by region)
For certain services, we work with specialist partners. Depending on your region, your data will be forwarded to the relevant specialist partner. This data transfer only takes place with your express consent and is based on Art. 6(1)(a) (consent) of the GDPR.
Requests from specialist installers
If you, as a specialist installer, submit the form “Become a partner now”, we store your details: company, contact person, phone number, email address, the types of requests selected, your area of operation and your message. This is supplemented by the IP address and the identifier of your browser as well as, if available, information about the origin of your visit. We use the details to discuss a collaboration with you and confirm receipt by email.
Newsletter
You have the option to subscribe to our newsletter via our website. For this purpose, we need your email address and your declaration that you agree to receive the newsletter.
To provide you with targeted information, we also collect and process voluntarily provided details on areas of interest, date of birth and postcode.
Once you have signed up for the newsletter, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to confirm your subscription.
You can cancel the newsletter subscription at any time. Please send your cancellation to the following email address: marketing@solar-guide.ch. We will immediately delete your data in connection with the newsletter dispatch. This revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of consent up to the point of revocation.
Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services.
